Tooth-Colored Fillings

Thanks to advances in modern dental materials and techniques, dentists have more ways to create pleasing, natural looking smiles.  Dental researchers are continuing their often decades-long work developing materials that look more like natural teeth.  As a result, dentists and patients today have a better cosmetic choice when deciding on what type of filling material to use.

When a new cavity needs filling or an old restoration needs replacing, the vast majority of patients now choose tooth-colored composite fillings.

Tooth-colored fillings are made of composite resin and serve to fill cavities just like silver amalgam fillings. However, white fillings are matched to the color of your teeth and are virtually invisible. Tooth-colored fillings have become more popular over the years.

With today's advancements, no longer will you have to suffer the embarrassment of unsightly and unhealthy silver/mercury fillings or metal margins of the past. Eliminate the dark, black appearance in your teeth with new-age, state-of-the-art, tooth-colored resin or porcelain materials.

Be sure to ask Dr. Pecue or one of his staff members about the cosmetic benefits of tooth-colored fillings.

Esthetic Re-Contouring

Have you ever wanted that "perfect smile"?  In certain cases, it's easier to achieve than you may think!  Esthetic re-contouring is a very conservative and affordable option for achieving that "perfect smile".

Esthetic re-contouring involves minor reduction along the biting edge of anterior teeth of irregular enamel.  This process actually strengthens the edge of the tooth by removing weakened pieces of enamel.  The final result is a smooth, straight, and "perfect" looking smile.

Some causes of these irregular or uneven enamel edges include: trauma, grinding, clenching, crowded teeth, etc.  By smoothing these uneven edges, a more natural looking smile or "perfect smile" can be attained.  No anesthesia is involved and no discomfort is experienced.

Be sure to ask Dr. Pecue or one of his staff members about the cosmetic benefits of esthetic re-contouring.
